The Cinema Suites is located in the heart of Te Anau – the gateway to Fiordland National Park. Te Anau
Te Anau is a Southland town that prides itself on its hospitality and warm welcome. It is also the last stop before the Milford Road. Many people travel from Queenstown on a day trip and miss the opportunity to stay and explore the area. There are many wonderful day and multi day walks (tramps) and Te Anau itself is a bustling town with a great range of cafes, restaurants and bars. One of these is the Black Dog Lounge Bar which is a step away from the Cinema Suites. Showcasing local wines, beers and ciders, it is a great place to spend an evening and is the perfect accompaniment to a trip to Fiordland Cinema which shows latest releases and the exclusive Ata Whenua (Shadowland).
Milford Sound
The most famous of the Fiordland Sounds – Milford Sound has been described by Rudyard Kipling as the ‘eighth wonder of the world”. The scale of the mountains is immense and when it rains (as it often does in Fiordland) hundreds of waterfalls appear, cascading down the steep rock sides.
You can visit Milford Sound on a day coach trip and we can recommend local companies to you. But the best way to experience the splendour and isolation of this area is to take a helicopter flight with Fiordland Helicopters who will wind through the mountains, above miles of native beech forest and down into the Milford Sound township.
